Thinking Nature in the Bürser Gorge

How can the geological educational trail in the Bürser Gorge look in the future? What stories, what knowledge, and what special features of this unique natural space should be conveyed – and how can the gorge be both protected and experienced?

The Bürser Gorge will become a Natural Thinking Space. The association Tal SCHAFFT Kultur invites all interested parties, together with Studio Matt | Eco-Social Design as well as the municipality of Bürs, the municipal council, and the agricultural community of Bürs, to help shape the future of the geological educational trail.

Together with project facilitator Christoph Matt and experts in geology, nature education, history, nature conservation, tourism, culture, and crafts, ideas will be collected on how nature, history, and knowledge can be conveyed in a contemporary manner. The personal experiences, memories, observations, and ideas of those who know and appreciate the Bürser Gorge are also welcome.

Between 10.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. interested individuals can join at any time. At various stations, experts will provide short impulses, followed by time for questions, conversations, and personal ideas. The contributions will be documented and visualized on-site and will subsequently be included in a concept for an eco-social educational trail.

Children from four years old can also participate in their own future station. Transportation from Bürs to the entrance of the Bürser Gorge will be provided for people in need of assistance.

After the collaborative thinking and shaping, there will be a snack with regional products from the Brandnertal. Then the day will transition directly into “Jam the Canyon – End of Summer Party”: From 2.00 p.m. “Play & Fun with NaNo” awaits the children, and from 2.30 p.m. the cover band Clay Nation from the Bregenzerwald will provide live music.

The results of the Natural Thinking Space will be presented at “Jam the Canyon” with a music installation and on the website.
